What do we do?
Mission
The Pulmonary Circulation Assembly is committed to two core missions:
- Advancing the Management of Acute Pulmonary Embolism: We aim to enhance clinical practice in the diagnosis and treatment of acute pulmonary embolism. With the development of novel interventional therapies and their increasing implementation across various regions, we seek to support and promote their broader adoption.
- Promoting Updated Treatments for Pulmonary Hypertension: As new inhaled vasodilators and anti-remodeling agents are emerging, we are dedicated to educating and informing the community about the latest therapeutic advances in pulmonary hypertension, helping ensure their effective integration into clinical practice.
Interests
In the Asia-Pacific Region:
- Evaluation of the current status of diagnosis and treatment for acute pulmonary thromboembolism based on large-scale real-world data.
- Promotion and dissemination of novel interventional strategies for acute pulmonary thromboembolism using emerging medical devices.
- Assessment of the efficacy of comprehensive treatment approaches—combining surgery, catheter-based interventions, and pharmacotherapy—for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).
- Review of the current clinical practice and outcomes of pulmonary vasodilator therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
- Advancement of new therapeutic strategies for PAH, including the introduction of novel agents with anti-remodeling effects.
- Real-world data analysis of inhaled pulmonary vasodilator therapies in patients with Group 3 pulmonary hypertension associated with underlying respiratory diseases.
Who should join
The Pulmonary Circulation Assembly welcomes physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals who are committed to advancing the Assembly’s mission. We actively encourage APSR members with interests in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), and pulmonary hypertension associated with respiratory diseases to join our community. This Assembly provides a platform for developing scientific knowledge, building professional networks, sharing research ideas, and fostering collaborative studies. We especially welcome members interested in exploring and applying novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to diseases of the pulmonary circulation. We are also seeking senior APSR members with extensive clinical and academic experience who are willing to contribute to the training and education of the next generation of specialists in acute pulmonary thromboembolism, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary vascular diseases. Finally, we invite all members enthusiastic about contributing to future Pulmonary Circulation Assembly Symposia at APSR annual congresses to share their ideas for lectures, presentations, and collaborative sessions.
